The Imperial County Immunization Coalition (ICIC) was established in September 2005 to promote immunizations and good health for children and adults of the Imperial County.
Preteen Vaccine Week, February 13-19, 2011
Preteen Vaccine Week is a California observance created to raise awareness of the important of immunization for "tweens" ages 11 and 12.
The goal of 2011's Preteen Vaccine Week campaign is raise awareness about California's new Tdap requirment for incomeing 7th-12th grade students. ACIP currently recommends that 11 and 12 year-old receive the following vaccines: Tdap, meningococcal, HPV, and the second chickenpox vaccine. All preteens are also recommended to receive an annual flu vaccine.

The purpose and goal of the Preteen Vaccine Week (PVW) Scavenger Hunt is to:
Promote vaccines to 11 and 12- years old with an enjoyable and educational event,Increace the number of doctors visits among 11 and 12-years olds, to promote California Law Assembly 354 (Tdap) which becomes an immunization requirement for students school year 2010-2011, and to serve as the closure event for PVW 2011.
